Crossfire headlights
 

Can I replace the burned out 10 watt bulbs with 35 watt ones without to much draw on the stator? Stock yellow crossfire with front brakes and external reverse. Just rebuilding from front to back.

I'm sure someone else will know better than me, but I'm gonna say you'd be ok.

Considered LED replacement bulbs? I know they are a bit more then incandescent replacements, but they will last a lot longer and be much brighter and no worries on straining the stator.

Plus our sight just happens to have a distributer!!!

A 6 pole stator can run 70 watts of light, two 35's watt bulbs. Any more than that will drain the battery. the chargng circut can't keep up

I never like getting close to the max on any stator, as the voltage tends to fluctuate with engine RPM, but still good info, thanks ck.

Thanks for the answers I think I will be checking into the led's don't want to be replacing the stator or bulbs regularly.

Deffinately go with the LED's. I just picked some up at the dealer expo this past weekend. Havent had time toi try them out yet on the buggy but they are 900 lumen and draw less then 1 watt. On display in a well lighted building you can see them reflect off the wall about 300 or more yards away. I know some who are buying the cheap ones off e-bay but they don't seem to last very long. I did learn that the differances in cheap to good are not the led's but the circuitry used and how they are protected from shock and elements. I'll give an update once I run these on my buggy.
