BuggyMasters Review: Hammherhead Twister 150

This is a very popular machine amongst the masses. This is one of the earlier models vs the newer SS designated models and the differences are not just in the name. I believe they were made in different factories. What's noticeable in comparing the two, is that this one out performs the other. This one here was a 2005. They use larger wheels (22's if I remember right) however they don't include a speedometer on these early ones. One way to tell the difference in the engine is the early ones have the electrical box mounted vertically vs the newer ones horizontal.

This machine holds the record for the highest top end of all of our 150's at 44 mph GPS verified. Only matched by our heavily modded Helix 150a. Overall a fantastic machine.

The only con to really note about this machine is having to deal with hammerhead. Finding parts could be a chore. When they have a problem with their supplier, it seems they cut all ties with them and may not be able to get the parts. Your market may vary but the machine is really pretty nice.

Pros: Excellent performance and a good looking machine.

Cons: Parts MIGHT be difficult to come by depending on your resources. No speedometer.

They likely changed either the axle sproket, finale drive sproket, or had a diffrent weight roller in it. Year to year you can sometimes see big diffrances in the same buggy. What parts do you need? Seems alot of you folks dont deal with performance dealers like Tom Syc.
