What type of buggy or what type of engine?

There is a black wire with a white stripe that shuts the motor off or kill wire. This wire comes out of the CDI and has to be connected to a momentary button/kill switch.

The buggy has a kill switch but even that doesn't work

Did the kill switch get wired back to the black w/white stripe wire on the kill switch? You need to follow that wire back to the electric box and confirm it's connected. There is a green (ground) wire that goes with the black/white wire to make the connection. The new ignition/CDI may not have the same wiring colors, you need to know what each wire does to know what wire to connect it with the black/white wire.

The kill switch worked before and i have not messed with the wiring so it is still stock but I will check that wires connection and I know what each prong on the cdi does but I'll double check the wires are going to the right locations

everything is connected right

Is the CDI an exact replacement? Is the ignition an exact replacement? You can test the kill switch by simply running the black/white stripe wire to ground.

both are exact replacements and i ran that wire to ground and nothing happened
