Start Button/ Ignition Button

ok, so i've been trying to work on my brakes for a couple of weeks, and since I have not been able to ride my buggy, so yesterday I decided I would fire it up just to let it run a little bit. I went out put the key in and turned it over, pushed the killswitch to proper position, pushed start and nothing, not a grind a buzz nothing at all, its still plugged in, and the lights still turn on and off. The only thing that is "different" is that the brake master cylinder isn't hooked up. but that shouldn't affect it right? Please help, thanks

Most of these things have a(n) (interlock) switch that prohibits the starting of the buggy without the brake pedal being held down. Most people just have their's looped without the switch (I do) because the brake pedal thing is a bit of a PITA. Check because maybe your brake cable/rod isn't working the switch properly? And while your down there just loop the two cables going to and from the switch so it doesn't become a hassle...

Hope this helps!

Thanks so much. After messin around with it with a friend i figured it out. There are theses 2 metal rings on the ends of these wires that attach to the side of the master cylinder. I learned that these control the brake light. Apparently they have to be in steady contact to start the go kart. Thank you for the reply, and I hope this thread helps anyone else who has this problem!

my brake light switch isn't working. There may very well be something I missed when I installed. I bought a new master brake cylinder slapped it on when I got it, bled the brakes this morning using a mightyvac the brakes are working pretty good but one of the main reasons I got the new master was that I thought the brake switch was funked on the old one, I noticed the old one had teflon tape on the threads of the switch screwed inside the master. What the previous owner had done was take both of the ring terminals that go on the switch and put them on one post so that they are in constant contact. I really don't wanna do that because it causes my brake light to be on all the time. I would like for it to function right. I'm gonna post this in another thread too. Thanks guys!
