War!!!!!me or it!!!!!

We have been invaded by what at first I thought was a large rat.It has chewed a hole bigger than a silver dollar both under the kitchen sink cabinett and one in the linen cloth cabinett in the bathroom!!!And to make matters worse it chewed a plastic hose going into the water tank part of the commod and caused a major leak and caused me a trip to Lowes to repair the line!!!I set 2 glue traps last night but it tore though them with ease!!!Worst it is getting into the spoon fork and knife drawers!!!......this is all out war!!! mancoman

Cowboy76 06-12-2012 02:10 PM

Forget the sticky traps get the old school snap traps. I always use peanut butter & just put it in the curled part. If It's that big you may want the bigger rat traps.

kliff 06-12-2012 03:28 PM

Yup, all is fair in love and war...get the spring traps, put that suckers lights out MM

Zapper 06-17-2012 06:21 PM

12Ga will get the job done.

Cowboy76 06-17-2012 06:25 PM

True but if your going that route at least be sporting, and make it a challenge use a 22lr hand gun.

Zapper 06-17-2012 07:08 PM

War is hell lol

mancoman 06-17-2012 10:48 PM

I still have not seen the thing to even know what I'm up against! When it chewed the hole in the kitchen cabinett floor there is a drain pipe to the left and so this forces it to come out at a straight angle and then it has to turn left the right is wall.I set 3 heavy duty rat traps slighly apart so it has to step on one of em to get by and it worked 2 nights ago springing one trap but it did not catch it and we have not heard a peep from it since.........I still have the traps and baited and waiting for it to make to make the next move. mancoman

Hvae you seen some of the new pellets they have out...steel BB's (1) in each pellet for super penetration, pointed plastic ballistic tips for maximum expansion...man they got more pellets out now, than I ever dreamed of as a kid... about 45 pages of pellets and realted stuff. I love to buy from these people. Since they aren't Bugguy related, maybe they'll let me slide on this link, LOL..:hail:

mancoman 06-22-2012 09:41 PM

Going on the 5th night and still nothing? My wife asked me if I have heard it and no I have not and my 18yr old son sits up very late on the computer and he has not heard it.........I fought an enemy I never got to see but the question is did I win or is this just a stalmate in the fight? mancoman

metalstudman1 06-22-2012 10:02 PM

As mentioned before- it may just be a "STALE"mate if it's dead in the walls. Winner to be decided at a later date or with a "FOUL"odor.

mancoman 06-22-2012 10:43 PM

metalstudman1 I hope this is not the case.:yuck:Maybe it just got discouraged and left on it's own? mancoman

kliff 06-23-2012 04:16 AM

Hopefully, you at least scared him off. Dad had one die in the attic once, it still makes him sick thinking about recoverring the carcass and getting it out of the house...:ack:

Give them hell ,Manco!
I applaud your catch & release method but I'm afraid your fighting a loosing battle. What you relocate just makes room for more to move in.

I found a couple of babies while removing a dead momma from the end of my driveway. Not having the heart to kill them, I took them to the barn and put them in a box. I was curious about them so for snits and giggles tried to raise them. I was very shocked and learned alot these little guys. They are very shy, cautious and nocturnal. So I doubt that's what was coming up through your floor. They were very friendly, affectionate and personable The wild ones can get very viscious when cornered and provocted but will try any means possible to avoid a confrontation, These never showed any sign of agression. . Their curiosity and mischief was very entertaining! I learned they never have rabies as their internal body temputures are too low to support the virus. They were very clean and spent hours cleaning and pruning themselves, like cats. Most folks consider them nasty and smelly but people would think the same of me if they only saw me while in the act of dumpster diving! They are scavengers by nature so they did a great job of keeping the yard and barn clean! They play an important role in the ecosystem. Rats, mice and snakes got gone! The rats and mice were compititon so the possums run them off and snakes were on the menu. So as long as a possum was on patrol these pests were history! They would sometimes hit the trash if I neglected to hand out cat food. They loved eggs! They would come up to the back door if they smelled eggs cooking. They lived in complete harmony with the cats and dogs and the kids for several years.

Know how many possums it takes to breed? ..... Three!

One has to watch for cars !!!!!!
If your not from the south you may not get that joke!

Zapper 07-05-2012 02:38 PM

Possoms

:lmao::laughing::laughing:I get the humor:banana:

mancoman 07-05-2012 08:46 PM

ckau yes they remind me of house cats in some ways. But I'm not the kind to want to raise any as I would have called animal control to come and get them this not being crule or mean but we don't have the room for them.Ants are a bad problem here and pet food of any kind hundred invade!I will talk to you later my friend. mancoman
