KID4LIFE 03-25-2010 07:53 PM

does it have a name on it? maybe comet?
if you measure the diameter and do some on-line searching, there should be some info on them. try this site.

ya know what?
i just happen to look at my kids' yerf dog 6.5hp and noticed that it will need a driver and driven unit also.....i did some web surfing and these things aren't as easy to find as they used to be. it an asymetrical series 30 on it and there are only a couple places i found that show them and them suckers ain't cheap any more!!! :eeek:if someone finds a good supplier let me know too......

They are 30 series. Ya, with comet going out of business parts are scarce. My understanding is that someone bought all their old stock though and plan on keeping the business going.

what do you think is gonna happen will another company start making torque coverters or will all new karts just have heavy duty centrifugal clutches?

KID4LIFE 03-26-2010 06:24 AM

i would assume that someone will pick up where they left off. there are still a ton of karts out there using this set-up. the trick will be finding the deals.

mancofunkart 03-26-2010 10:23 AM

i found one of the driver units on mfg supply for $108 and it a 1" bore because thats what mine is but i think that u can find the 3/4" bore in alot more places for as cheap as $60. i really wish that mine had the 3/4" bore so i could save some money but it looks like im s.o.l.
