I have a old school go-cart frame in the workshop i want to put togeather.
I have a 10hp Briggs motor that was taken out of a genarator. The shaft coming out of the motor is a 7/8 in dia . Smooth no key.
I woyld like to go clutch to sporket . Anyone know were to buy what i need not haveing a key in the shaft ?

the taper is what was used, for your purposes, there aren't many options.

Pull the crank and have a keyway machined into it.
Swap the crank for one with a keyway in it.

Go shadetree ...
Weld a tall bead run into it and cut/grind it back to keystock dimensions.
Drill some deep "dimples" into it and red loctite the screws on a centrifugal clutch with at least 2 set screws.

end it threaded so i was not sure if thier was a bolt on clutch out thier , I can break into her but not sure if this 3600 rpm motor is worth it on the cart in the long run !
