Welcome.
If I am understanding this right.....
If it does not take gas maybe your carb float height is to low and keeping the needle seated.

Now with cam
I had mine a little off time and it did run, but like crap.
look here .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0K-ytyjOFg

When you do this make sure the piston is TDC too, by pulling plug and looking. to make sure it is on the compression stroke.

thanks for the vidio.i dont hear any tapping in the head.it acts like its out of time or maybe a burnt valve.but ive never had one of these things, so i dont know what to look for.ill check the timming and the valve clearence and get back to u.found a guy down the road that works on these things,if nothing works ill have to go see him.thanks to u again.

No problem

Welcome

Is the carb getting a sufficient amount of gas? Open the drain in bottom of carb to see if bowl is full. Does it have spark? Pull plug connect lead to plug and ground plug threads to valve cover, crank engine and observe spark, is it a bright blue in color? If not what color?
What is the valve lash set at ? How much compression does the engine have?

compression is good, has great blue spark, plenty of gas in the bowl, and the float is set level.took it to a guy this morning and he thinks its in the jets,he said way to small.main jet is only a 35.left it with him, told me he'd straighten it out.we'll see....thanks to all

The number 35 would be the pilot jet which is perfect for a stock to lightly modified 150.

finally got it straight

just wanted to let u guys know...figured out the problem.wires into the cdi cut and arking.while it was idling it was fine, but under load all kinds of crap.thanks to all for the help.

cold

the thing runs good, but only after it warms up.and i've never seen anything that took this long.it spit and spuddered for at least 15 min before it cleared up.hopefully its just the cold wheather.

these things are kind of cold natured, but your auto choke may not be working properly.

cold

well i put a new carb on it,came with new choke.is there a way to adjust the electric choke? other than taking so long to warm up it only takes gas wide open.at least it can be rode.

zman007007 01-13-2015 01:25 PM

no adjustment on it I know of.

zman007007 01-13-2015 01:28 PM

I am just wondering if the choke is getting the continuous fire to it after it sitting for so long. what kind of condition are the electrical wires in?

zman007007 01-13-2015 01:29 PM

check the ones to the choke. make sure of no broke wires, and no wires shorting out.

1975 camaro guy 01-13-2015 06:03 PM

went over wires, look ok.the cdi wire was pinched, took care of that.i'll check the choke wires if it ever quits raining.2 full days im about sick of it.
