Anybody tried these shocks?
Oil filled shocks for $11. Anyone tried these, any good?

They look like good shocks, but looks don't mean anything. What are you wanting to put these on?

would work on a smaller cart/buggie
110# spring would be to light for lots of 150 buggies way to light for 250 & up |

check eye to eye measurement |
They will fit, they might be 1/2" longer which can be adjusted out if needed, holes are right size too. I might order 2 and test them out, if they work good I'll get 6 more.

The shocks arrived today. First thing I noticed was thier weight, they feel 3 times heavier than the current shocks.
Side by side, you can see the new ones are a little longer. http://inlinethumb25.webshots.com/14...600x600Q85.jpg Started to install them on the front end and ran into this problem, the shock mount binds with the shock keeping it about 1" away from the top mounting hole. The biggest problem was the extra length, they had the front suspension maxed out. http://inlinethumb46.webshots.com/10...600x600Q85.jpg Put them on the back instead with no problems, also gave the cart a noticable lift. http://inlinethumb49.webshots.com/41...600x600Q85.jpg Didn't get to test drive them yet, but I did bounce it. They are definitely oil filled and they do dampen compared to the mechanical shocks. They feel a little on the stiff side but I wont know for sure until I take the cart offroad, hopefully this weekend. My overall first impression is that they're worth the money. I'll be picking up 2 more for the red Yerf. |

Had a chance to test them out today. Much better than the mechanical shocks.
They make the whole ride quieter and less jarring. Going over bumps and bonucing over small hills feels completely different. There is less suspension movement and at the same time it's smoother. For the price they're a great deal. I ordered two more for the red yerf. Just need to find shocks for the front now.... |
glad they are going to work for you
|
x2.
cheapest bestest thing i've done yet to mine. |
moved them to the front; they work pretty well there too; a mite stiff though on my very light yerf.
simply had to grind the lower mount for clearance, Clarence. |
