Yerf dog rear wheel hubs
 

I just bought a yerf dog spiderbox 150cc for my kids. It is an awesome kart and shows signs of minimal use, but the drivers side wheel hub is wore in well. In the manual it only shows one part number for the wheel hub which is a splined hub.
When calling a kart parts dealer that has the hub, i informed them one side is tapered and not splined and was told they know more about go karts than me and both sides are splined. Anyone share any helpful information or upgrades? Pictures attached

I've owned 2 Spiderboxes and both had splined axle & hubs BOTH sides. Your axle pic. is a mystery!! I can't imagine them having just one wheel pulling all that weight. It's your choice for an up-graded axle, there are many posts about axles that work & manufacturers.
I will provide personal experience about the heavy-duty BD replacement axle--ours lasted a month:cussing:But we drive HARD

Your kid's driving style may help you make a choice as to how strong it will need to be- also the terrain they're driving on makes a difference too.You have an opportunity to widen it for better stability. Any axle 1" or larger should work, I recommend 1-1/4" or 1-3/8" depending on your budget. You will need to buy everything having to do with the axle at this point to make it last if you buy the BD axle.
- bearings,sprocket holder,sprocket with matching bolt pattern to the holder,brake hub with rotor to match bolt pattern(rotor needs to be the same diameter as the original for the caliper to work),hubs to match the wheels you're planning on using.
I have a 1-1/4" hex axle that they don't make anymore from the Jehm "Green Machine", but it's lasted 12yrs. of harsh treatment. FYI-

My kids do not ride it hard, so an OEM axle should be fine. I was doing a ton of research and could not find anyone who has the one side splined, was starting to go crazy.
If you happen to have an OEM or standard axle, i would be interested in buying.

I read your post from last week and just now got to look to see if I had any Spiderbox stuff left. I do have 2 axles- one has everything except a sprocket, the other is just the axle but both have matching splines. I will put them on the bench tomorrow and make sure they're straight.

I appreciate it, if i snug up the tapered wheel bearing any more it is going to be rubbing the frame. I told my son to hold off riding until i find the right hub or an axle

Sorry for taking so long today- I had to repair a mobility chair for one of my friends with cerebral palsy so she could get around again & it took a lot longer than I figured!. I did spin the axles on the bearings and they both have a slight bend - they could be easily straightened, I don't have a press anymore or I'd straighten them. As I remember-you could only notice the lope at higher speeds (40mph-ish). I didn't get a chance to take pic's yet either. I do know they're about 39" hub to hub. Let me know if you can use them and I'll clean them up as they've been buried in a corner of my shop.

Here's pic's of the HD axles for reference purposes-
The main (thick) part of the axle where the adjustable sprocket/brake disc rotor holder is: 32mm As I remember the stock axle has welded holders.
The bearing seat (skinny) part near the wheel hub is: 25mm
All the lug bolts for the hub are 10mm x 1.5 (total- 8) and it's a 4 x 110 pattern
The set screws are 10mm x 1.5 for disk/sprocket holder stops (total- 8)
The axle/hub nut is a 30mm with nylon insert (total -2) with 4 washers (2 each side).

Pic # 2 shows assembled configuration for holders & stops
The bearings need set screws (4 total) if swingarm/bear flanges does hold axle in alignment, the bearings have a skinny tab & a wider tab for positioning- they can be turned as needed to get alignment. Generally the bearing holders go on the outside of bearing flanges on the swingarm, but can go either way as long as they are mated together (NOT on each side of the bearing flange) it takes 6 bolts/nuts for the bearing holder/flange attachment.The stock sprocket and brake disk rotor will bolt to the holders (4 nuts/ bolts each)
