BuggyMasters Review: Jeep style kids 110cc mini buggy

These (at least ours) are made by a company called Fuxim. One thing that parents will like about them is that they have a very wide stance to them which makes them much less likely to roll over. These have a single forward speed and reverse. They carry the standard 110cc engine which many manufacturers make with either a 3 speed or 2 speed semi auto. On this one, they simply went with one single gear which gives it a top speed of roughly 25 mph. The botttom speed areas are just ok. Not going to climb any big hills with it though.

You should note that these 110's don't use the CVT based transmission that you find in the 150cc buggies. That is very important to note. The CVT is good for hills or top end. With these 110's, you don't have that luxury. You either get the semi auto which is good for anything as you can choose your gear (which could be considered a draw back since your kids have to learn how to shift) or you go with one like this that is smack in the middle.

Build quality was just ok. The exhaust mount on ours had vibrated itself in half and had to be welded and reinforced. I don't consider these to be of super high quality by any means but they are priced relatively cheap and kids love the way they look and have a blast with them. Plenty of cabin room. A bit more room than what you find with the Baja 90. An average sized adult can drive it though not comfortably after a period of time.

Pros: Great looks. Great handling. Ran decent. Can take bigger kids.
Cons: Less than average build quality in some areas. One gear choice.

Overall BuggyMasters Rating: 6 out of 10

THESE THINGS HAVE A 3 SPEED!?!?!???? AS I A 3 SPEED FOWARD? That's BS! Why can't they put that in a 150? That would be awesome!!!!!!!

No these are single speed forward and reverse.

But you can get them with a 3 speed, right?

I am not sure if the jeep style ones have the three speed or not but the 110cc with a three speed is a very common configuration on 110cc buggies. In fact, they make even the smaller buggy with a 110cc 3 speed on it!

It's still awesome. Why cant they put this kind of tranny in a 150?

How would one of these hold up to a small adult putting a built pit bike engine in it. I'm considering this a s a project .. I have built 20hp engines of the same style.
