New trailmaster 150 xrs owner with questions

Just picked up a new 150cc Trailmaster and have a few questions. For whatever reason whe running wide open for a decent distance it looses all power, doesn't shut off and if you let it slow down and feather the gas then get back on it, it will pick right back up. Then may do it again but at no particular time. Now I can chase the kids on their 4 wheelers around our 3 acres wide open until I run out of room with no issues. Does anyone have insight on this?
Also the cart seems not to idle back down to a constant idle when I come to a stop. Sometimes it will and other times it high idles after riding for a bit. It is just not consistent. On the initial startup it idles high until the enritchment control idles it back down. I have a tach hooked up and its about 1900rpm normal and sticks at about 2500 other times on a stop ? Now this is the tach that simply gets a signal from the lead wrapped around the plug wire, so uncertain of it's accuracy.

Appreciate the responses. The kart runs well about 90% of the time.

When you say new is it brand new or a new buggy you bought used? Either way it sounds like a carb issue.

Brand new. I agree it definitely sounds like fuel delivery but not sure what would cause it so randomly.

Check to make sure your fuel cap is venting.

Definitely worth checking out should it be pretty obvious?

It definitely a carb issue.

Might check your float lvl on the carb. Had kinda same issue. At wide open throttle, for long amount of time, could be running the bowl out of gas, and it's starving it self. Maybe to small carb?????
I had to adjust my float so would fill all way up. Was only about half way. But that was because put new shocks in back, and changed angle of engine.
Honestly, if brand new. Take back to dealer, and have them figure it out. Would think warranty would cover it.
