Hi everyone.. I have a carter talon buggy that I'm trying to restore... I changed most of the electrical except for the ignition switch is a 5 pin switch.. I'm trying to install one from amazon but all the colors are different. How can I find out the color codes.. I will appreciate very much any help. Thanks

Welcome- I just did a Google search for a Carter Talon and found this: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/685954...visual-search/ It would appear the original key only had 4 wires based off that diagram with a push button. Most switches have a letter on the back near the terminal blade.Since you already changed most of the wiring it shouldn't be too hard to just follow them back to a termination point. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the problem as it appears that you have all the info needed in your pic's. The new switch shows what each wire does- the difference is the new switch (NO push button) works like your car where turning the key all the way to the right is the solenoid(start on new switch). Generally speaking-The yellow/red stripe is usually solenoid trigger(small wire coming out of solenoid that doesn't go to ground). Black wire w/white stripe is usually kill switch(goes to CDI)(flame-out on new switch). Ground is simple, whatever color is attached to the motor or chassis.Power is whatever color is attached to the battery terminal on the solenoid(big wire terminal NOT going to the starter)(power out on new switch)).The regulator/rectifier will have only 1 wire that doesn't go to the CDI or motor that will run to the key switch(power in).Color coding doesn't usually cross-over to foreign manufacturers! Hope this was some type of help.
