snagged this up today. Needs to be gone through to redo a bunch.of ****ty craftsmanship but the thing is a beast as it is. Changed the 17t front sprocket to 14 today and now I can't get it to work out cause there is no chain tensioners. Couple plans so far is possibly swapping out the rear section with a different type of swingarm or fabricate one that will harness the motor better and allow me a way to.adjust chain. Fabricate some new shock towers and relocate front and rear shocks to give more ground clearance. take.it easy. I'm aware of.the bs southern engineering....

what will you do to fix it?
i would scrap the swing aarm and build an irs.that motor is about 160lbs and with the swing aarm it will ride ruff to say the least.

Yep, pics ... we love pics ... From what i can see, the front end setup doesn't look too bad. The narrow angle-width of the arms looks to be a limiting factor. shorter, stiffer shocks with inboard locations may let you get away with using what's there if it's safely built already. If nothing interferes with the downward travel of the arms, you could probably get the nose several inches up and get a good range of travel with just a shock change. out back ... well ... I wonder how long ago this was a project on a forum with a lot of oooh and aahhhhs?

Heres a Lil vision im having.. completpely remove the motor and rear swing. Planning on completely building a whole new rear end swing arm that braces the motor very welll and fabricate some type of easily adjustable rear end. I was planning on picking yo some snowmobile long travel shocks that will allow me to raise the front end. Most of my priority is going to be.vesting more clearance it the front as well ass the back. . Prob gonna.fabricate a whole new complete rear end that harnesses the motor and allows an HD axle.

I been working a lot and tinkering with the R1 lately so haven't messed with the buggy. Supposed to have off tomorrow so maybe I can get a video for ya. Here's a pic of the R1. How fast do you plan on going in the buggy?I ask becouse a swing arm is going to bounce and beat you around like you stole something.
I built one with 15'' of travel in front and a swing arm in back with 20+'' of travel.Hit a big bump you cant feel it in front and the back still hits very hard,and thats with a small motor.The buggy has the same air shocks all around,I thought with all that travel in back it would do better than that.
IRS is the only way to go,its not hard to build and youll be glad you did.
would love to see the build.We have a gsxr 750 thats going in the buggy with irs ,2000 f-150 cvs and wheel hubs,14-60 sprockets.
