Bearings hate me

:cussing: So apparently I have bad luck with removing bearing housings.. I bought my son a new Kandi GkG-90 this winter and one rear bearing is screeching. I can't seem to get the dammed housings off the axle. There doesn't seem to be enough lip to get the claws of a puller on. Has anyone ever tacked on a nut or some extra material to the housing to help in getting a grip to pull 'em off? any ideas? Thoughts?

pix would help. Sounds like a small ID bearing? Spindle or full axle? if you can crack the bearing apart and get it to jsut the inner race, then you can cut that. usually i always lightly sand the shaft right next to the bearing, blow it out with compressed air then hit it with penetrating lube. it doesn't take much rust, dirt or surface imperfections to hang a bearing up.

Make sure there's no bolts holding it. I believe there's 3 bolts. . But it should come right off without no special tools.

This bad boy right here. I've tried a slide hammer, three claw puller, bastards stuck on tight. I did a bearing change on my TM 150 and one came right off the other was stuck and required "encouragement". I know these are "supposed" to come right off, but in fact, it's not..:(

Victory!! My mechanic buddy lent me a snap-on slide hammer with a "clamshell"... It still fought to stay on.. Probably going to order a new housing too, seeing as I beat the crap out of this one..
