Buggy Cam test

ok got the buggy running again and i would love to buy a gopro camera for it but just cant justify the cost just to make some sweet buggy vids, so i found a little spy cam on ebay mounted it on the back, and here we go, this is just a test, wanted to see how it works, pay no attention to the date on it. gotta work some bugs out i think need to mount it further to the right and make the hole in the case i put it in a little bigger that's why its kinda fuzzy in the top right. but i think its not bad for an 8 dollar camera

I agree, nice job.

very nice.

I'm interested in how you got this setup. What "spy" cam did you use? does it record to a memory card and you can read the video file off the card?

I did a video recently on my buggy, but I used my wifes digital camera set to video mode, and held it the whole time. it's really bumpy though since I was holding it. Your video came out much better and still allowed you to have both hands on the wheel!

It's called an 808 keychain camera it's a small camera that looks like a key fob for a car, I found videos of people hooking them to cars or rc airplanes so it got me interested, what I did was got a pack of tic tacs ate them all drilled two holes in the end, one for the lens and one for the mic, that's why it's cloudy in the upper right corner. I have to make the one a bit bigger, then I put some cardboard in to fill in the gaps, the tic tac case is a bit big for the camera. I cut two slits in the bottem ran a small hose clamp up and down through it and attached it to the horizontal bar behind my head. It uses a micro sd card that pops in the side can just leave it in and hook to the computer via mini USB and it just shows up as external memory. They are Chinese so there isn't any brand or promise that the quality is good, just one of those things you buy on eBay hope for the best. If I remember I'll snap some pics of my setup in case my description doesn't make any sense

Do you still have that link on e-bay? I guess I'm just too lazy or busy to look for it.

Oh hell $1.50 more!! I think I'll wait for it to go on sale somewhere. LOL
Thanks TOM

For $9.50, He better throw in a box of tic tacs! Although, If he did, I wouldn't want to eat the tic tacs since they might also be from China.

JK, that is super cheap... worth a shot at least! Thanks for the writeup.

dbil84 09-21-2011 09:43 PM

haha yeah tic tacs may contain traces of lead
