The leak isn't causing it-it should still run smooth even with too large of jet with no-load- just sluggish.Is the air cleaner on it? Just another suggestion -When you changed jets did you verify that the holes in the side of the emultion tube were clear-as the needle valve rises it let's more fuel/air mixture in and if the highest set of holes are clogged this could be the problem.I know you've been thru the carb-but, one almost invisible speck of debris in any passage can cause this problem. I've cleaned and re-installed carb's to find that I unlodged something and had to re-clean again.
