Didn't you see my post above? You don't have to remove the engine or split cases to replace the timing chain. My guess is you will have to kneel on the garage floor to remove the engine though. I would bet you will spend more time on the floor removing and replacing the engine than you would spend doing the parts swap. This is my opinion and I am not trying to be argumentive at all. You should do things your way.
