Ok that's a little better picture.
If it is like the one on my old hammerhead then there should be 2 nuts.
1 on top of the plate and 1 on the bottom. You have to thread both nuts up or down to loosen or tighten the chain.
On mine there was a spacer above the lower nut and a big washer below the top nut.
