I really can't answer that just looking at the pictures. I suspect it would be a much cleaner job to modify the buggy swing arm.
Either way will take a good amount of fabricating, if you have anyone who is more experienced in fabricating, I would recommend you ask them for some help.
You might be able to use the shocks from the Polaris too, the stockers on the buggy are like pogo sticks.
