I too replaced the joints with heims on the steering arms. Like MSM, I found steering took a touch more effort but I felt it was a fair trade off. I gained improved steering response, easier and acurate alignment adjustments that would hold and a big reduction in steering slop.
My joints were totally shot by the time I converted so any change would have felt like a huge improvement to me
