Dice -- That is so cool ! FYI, the steering shaft's are 5/8ths diameter. If you have a drill that size, you can bore out the universals, slip them on and drill through them for roll pins. I'd bore them for you, but don't have anything over 1/2 in. dia.

RE porting , 80-120 grit tooth finish on the walls is good. Polish--don't, not worth the effort and while some will debate me is often detrimental. In some sections of the tract it isn't a bad thing, in others you need a rougher finish to provide turbulance/boundary layer, otherwise the mix makes contact and the fuel drops out and streams into the cylinder along the walls = cylinder wash and fuel in the oil.
