I can say this... whatever you do get a gy6 based buggy you get more bang for your buck that way.

I went with one of the industrial type go karts for my first one, and don't get me wrong they are great but they don't have the power of a gy6 unless you get one that's 10+hp and even then they can be lacking, no reverse.
