There may be a chance you would fry the clutch trying to engage at lower rpms. The buggy may not move forwards until it has developed enough power. you might not have enough hp at lower rpms. It might put a strain on the clutch. I am just guessing here.... This is a interesting idea though, most raise rpm engagement to promote better take off power. Let us know how it works.
