I'm a cheater, (left hand on the work piece and thumb hook just below the nozzle) which is why i need new gloves so often. And definitely do the auto-darkening hood, its a huge improvement--just don't forget to peel the protective plastic off the outer lens. Took me ten years to realize that goof
