True! I never use an impact on these nuts. and never had one come loose! Most need a impact to bust the nuts loose the first time as they are installed fron the factory using impacts but the factory uses air for efficent assembly line work. If your ever out on the trail and need to make repairs you got to be able to bust those nuts loose. Make sure the variator and/or clutch are seated correctly down on the shafts, thread the nuts down by hand and cinching them up is all it takes. There's no lateral force put on these nuts so as long as they are tight enough not to vibrate loose, your set..
