A tor-q-verter is an version of the 30 series- only mounted to a plate for easy/complete installation. The 40/44 will have exactly the same performance, your low-end torque requirements are based off the output sprocket(jackshaft) size and axle sprocket size.The CVT will usually get you to top speed well inside the 1/8 mile mark. For that amount of versabilty I would set-up the axle sprocket with split/quick change sprockets & sprocket holder. Depending on your tire sizes/variety you may get the result needed with them alone.
