And soapkart did a very easy solution to the cable length problem, he just cut the ball of the front end of the cable and slide the wire through a tightening setup (washers, nuts, and bolts) and that was it.
My little brother did the same things and it works great! so if the cable ever breaks you can just buy a new one and slide it into the sheathing and cut the excess off.
