Gasoline Question
I have a couple of options on gas for my recent Yerf purchase. I have access to a station that sells non-ethanol gas... but only 87 octane. Would it be better to use straight 87 octane non-ethanol gas or a higher octane gas with ethanol (93 octane) and add ethanol stabilizer to each tank? Or does it even matter? Thanks.

if you've got close access to non-ethanol fuel, count your blessings! Use it by all means unless there is an octane restriction on your engine. If you don't need higher rated fuel, no need to waste your money. I hate ethanol in gas, it's nothing but a bunch of taxpayer subsidized government forced crap that cuts mileage, robs power and screws things up.

For a stock motor, Octane depends a lot on temperature and altitude, so the colder and lower altitudes can use lower octane. The only reason I steer clear of the ethanol is that it will hurt 2 stroke engines that are on my dirt bikes and I only carry one gas tank. The 4-stroke on your Yerf will run on either and I am not sure you will notice a difference, unless you are racing.

In my experience Ethanol crystalizes quicker in the carb faster than non-Ethanol, so if your buggy is going to be parked alot use the non-Ethanol. I've found that the stabilizer don't do much for any length of time (maybe 2 months) before issues with the carb occur.Solution: DRIVE your toy OFTEN!!!! or simply drain the tank/carb if it's going to be setting un-used for awhile, it's much quicker to drain & put fuel in than to clean a carb!!! Most go kart/buggy engines run just fine on regular, I've tried higher octanes to find no real improvement in performance unless the engine was modified.
