Oil inside CVT housing and cover on Carbide
Why would there be oil inside the CVT housing and cover? There is a small brass nipple on the bottom of the CVT cover that drips oil after ridding and also getting smoke coming out of the upper breath tube on the CVT of my sons carbide. Any advice???

There are two seals inside there. One is for the transmission input shaft, the other goes around the crankshaft behind the variator. Ours has a little oil in it as well. I have ordered new seals for ours but have not yet put them in. Not sure which one is leaking honestly so i just bought both. Not sure how much of a pain it is going to be either. Haven't got around to changing the seals yet.

If they are a typical grease type seal they should not be that bad to change. A mechanic friend of mine taught me a trick on these you take a screw and cordless and drill it into the metal ring and yank it out, then take a deep socket or hollow pipe the same size as the metal on the seal and tap it in there with a little oil on the rubber to keep it from gouging. Works like a champ on automotive front and cam seals.
