i am not sure if you want a "gokart" or a buggy but for 1200 you should find a buggy on
craigslist

Craig's list is usually the best place to look for a used buggy/go kart without having to travel too far to get it.Post the ad of what you find and we can provide an opinion. What type of terrain are you going to be driving on? A buggy would be better than a go kart for comfort. My understanding of the difference is that most go karts have a horizontal lawnmower type engine where as buggies generally have a motorcyle/scooter type engine. The go karts that have suspensions are very limited on wheel travel.Have you got any mechanical skills? Buying something used will be the best value and will also teach you about maintenance/repair. We're here to help if you have questions.

it will all come down to what type of terrain you ride on and what kind of power you will need.
