Default Joyner SV 250 Front Shock question

Hey guys,

I have a 2009 sv 250. Everyone that has one of these agrees the front shocks are way to stiff. The bottom of my socks have a small shrader valve that looks like it's for air. It's not for air (ask me how I know). My question is this. Does anyone know what will happen with the shock if I bleed out most of the fluid? I know it will kill the dampning effect but would it also really soften them up?

Not really a shock person per sey. It may help a little, but I doubt it. The main problem lies in the spring rate. The springs are way to stiff on them. I put some Walker Evans Racing Shocks on mine from a Predator 500 and they helped alot and now the rears need replace with something much better. I am hoping to get some funds allocated hopefully by summer so I can pursue a joint venture with a contact I've made and take a 2008 and 2009 Joyner to him for weighing and measuring, so an accurate set of high quality shocks can be made for them at a decent price.

These are what I run. Well worth the money. These and tire should be first upgrades!

Thanks EJ Mac. If you ever get that going be sure to post it. If haven't upgraded the shocks by then I'd be interested for sure.
On to mr. CartinAK (with the sweet throw back Vans!, I had the red and white one's my self).
What are those shocks? They look pretty sweet. Did it soften up that ride?

Walker Evan Polaris Predator fronts. MONEY WELL SPENT. I can honestly say they are 100x better than stock, partly due to the dual rate springs. I have never bottomed them out and they are as smooth as can be on small bumps. I have seen them for as little as $167.00 new and up on EBAY. I paid around $275.00each for both my sets.

I run the same one on mine and it is a HUGH difference. Look around and be patient, you`ll find a deal on them every now and then.

Thanks EJ, Bill gave me a great deal on mine. I only drove mine twice before switching to the WE`s, but it was a noticable difference.

They look real nice on your ride. I am really wanting to try a set of the sled shocks on mine to see how they compare to the Predator one's I am currently running.

So it seams the sprigs are the real issue. Anyone tried to just replace the springs with some lighter ones? I would think that to be about the cheapest fix.
