Default UNI filter installation on a 250

I checked this site before doing this, but didn't find a reference on installing the UNI filter on the 250, so here are pictures of my installation.

Feel free to comment or make suggestions.

You may need to shorten the sink pipe. you do need the bend in there for filter clearance but too long of a pipe causes a loss of air velocity. you may notice a throttle lag just off idle or a stumble while trying to get rpms up. If so shorten the pipe till the throttle smooths out.
People trying to make snorkle type systems have experienced these problems.

Thank you for the suggestion. I was thinking it might be too long, but the only way to find out is to test it out. I'll test it out next weekend and give my feedback. I really like how I've got it now, since I'm able to have it strapped on and all. If it doesn't perform well I'll try to shorten it up a little.

250's do better with the UNI directly on the carburetor. Only the 150's need a 6" intake runner.

ckau, you were right. The pipe was too long. It idled okay, but when I got more than half way on it, it bogged down pretty bad. Since I was out, I just pulled it off and ran with one sink pipe, and ran great! Glad you said something because I had thought it was something clogged in the carb.

I probably need to get a bigger filter. This one I just pulled off the 150 I have.

Thanks for the advice. Once I come up with a perminant setup for the new filter, I'll post pictures.

In case you haven't heard it enough - I agree. Put the UNI right on the carb. Best results that way.
