Found this for possible "New" buggy...What do ya think?

Hello,

Just getting into buggies. I'm a pretty big guy I guess (6'3" 280lbs). I bought a Yerf Dog 3206 (GX150...whatever you want to call it) for my wife/daughter. It hauls me and my brother (500lbs of meat) up a 50% grade for 30-40 feet. It is crawling to make it over the top but she does it (all stock and hasn't been ran for several months prior to my purchase).

I am now looking for myself a buggy. I was hoping to find a cart around the same size but with a bigger engine (either factory or custom).

I found this on Craigslist.

It has a 2003 Yamaha R6 engine. I'm pretty sure it would haul me around. The guy driving in the video is just about my size. Maybe 20lbs lighter.

Opinions?

The biggest problem with an over powered buggy is getting enough traction. With 500 lb's in there I would think you would be ok. That R6 has more horse power than most small car's so you will need to be really careful. It haul butt if you can get it to hook up!

It looks like a nice build-Does it have reverse? That's the hard part to get with motorcyle powered buggies.How much is he asking for it? I agree with 300pilot when it comes to getting traction unless you intend on just drifting all the time!!!!

Yea. I wondered about getting traction with it also. So, I searched you tube for videos and found one of a guy doing donuts with no roll cage. After he rolled it on himself I decided that motor for a small frame = disaster.

I got a homemade instead. I'm going to start another thread for it. I'll be making some mods to it. Some major. I'll post the thread link here when I start it.

I did get a homemade buggy. Powered by a Yamaha Warrior 350 4-stroke. Gonna change 2 or 3 things.
