is my cylinder wall ok?
i bought a gy6 motor, im in the process of tearing it down and i see that the piston has some damage. could someone tell me what shape the wall is in. I hope i can get away with cleaning it up and getting a new piston.

If the piston has play on the crank arm, you need to replace the crank assembly. if there is any gouging in the cylinder, it will need to be replaced.

That motor was seized while running did not happen while stored . Since the cylinder got hot enough to melt the piston and sieze the rings ,it needs to be bored. The cylinder is out of round .

Cylinder needs to be replaced, just go with the 59mm big bore, it will drop in and you'll have more power to work with.

I was going to replace my piston rings because I'm blowing blue smoke. The cylinder looks good and so does the piston. The problem I'm having is trying to get piston rings for my 57.4mm piston. Does anyone know of a good place to look and order them?

I don,t know if I have just the rings, but I may have the piston with rings. I'll check and PM you if I do. Either way I can order them in short time if not in stock.

OK that sounds good. I might replaced the valve seals also. I'm trying to figure out what went wrong with my sunl gokart with about 30 miles on it. I bought it new.
