Helix 150 CC GY6 Piston Land Broken
Our Helix 150 cc GY6 has been smoking and using lots of oil. Power is ok, however we decided to tear it down in an attempt to get rid of the oil consumption. The piston and cylinder did not show any appreciable wear, however as I started to remove the piston rings the land between the top and second ring crumbled. The piston and cylinder did not show any galling or signs of heat. Any idea what would cause this?

Post some pics of the cylinder bore, piston side and top view and head combustion chamber. It could have been a faulty piston but is very rare. Looking at the bore, piston, and combustion chamber with valves will tell more if their is a problem with heat, lean mixture or an octane issue.
