Default Is this a reliable ENGINE?

Happy Thanksgiving every1, Does any1 know what engine is this? Is it a good engine, and how can i find out how many horses is it or a link for info on it? Thanks

Sorry dude- I haven't ever seen a right side output shaft engine before- it's the size of a 5hp. Yellow color if it's stock would have been Mccollough.

I think it's a Mccollough 5 hp. they were very reliable but now they are almost imposable to find parts for. run it and save for a new motor.

The old Mccollough (sp?) stuff seems to have a pretty strong market, i think there's a lot of interest in it from guys restoring old go karts. What i see of it on e-bay doesn't go all that cheap. I'd clean it up, get it running if possible and put it out there.

It runs just need a new carb i guess? cause it dies if you dont keep gassing it

hard to say, could be worn throttle blade shaft, gummed up idle circuit etc. Are you installing this in something or just playing around with it?
