Default Sunl buggy, what would you pay?

One Sunl with missing shock, bad tires, no engine. What would be the most you'd pay?

BTW, the engine is in my basement along with the wiring, exhaust, carb, airbox & engine mount bar.

I'd go $150.(frame only) it's missing a strut!!!(not a shock)
Is this your's or a friends? Also depends on where "Penciltucky" is exactly!!

This is the buggy that i got the sunl engine from the same day i picked up the carter engine. Owner wants $250 for it and dropped to $230, it's about a 1.5 hour drive one-way to get it. I was thinking $200 max, i got the engine from it and bits i mentioned for $90. Have yet to verify that the engine runs though. Re the strut/shock, from what i've seen of sunl parts lists, it seems like a shock in "standard" configuration somehow is installed into the strut tube. I'd likely get rid of the strut setup anyway.

Metal, you nailed it pricewise. I'd pretty much put off on doing anything with this because i'm short on time and money (2 weeks til i begin a new construction project and start re-opening the business for the season) Apparently his dad is on him to get it out of the yard and he's been after me on it. I made him that price offer and his dad said yes to it. Picking it up tomorrow--just gotta empty my change jars now.....

I can't seem to find any chassis parts out there for Sunl. Any ideas? I'm thinking it's time to find a trashed atv to build the front end with.

After the worst turnpike trip i think i've ever been through, (4 hours for homeward leg instead of the normal 1.5--left leg is shot from running in and out of 1st and 2nd for 30 or so of the 100 miles) the sunl is home (in the back of the truck in the rain for now) ... she's a little rough but the frame is solid and not bent up at all. Some surface rust, nothing bad though. the front struts are indeed just tubes with a shock collar-clamped into them! It's a single seater, If the wife decides it's a keeper, I may pull the same move rarerat did and widen it to fit the yerf bench. If not, it's a quick resto and resale. Very simple frame and cage structure. It also looks like it will take an ATV front end much easier than the HH did. So far it needs a shock and some tires (holding air, but bald.) A lot of it was taken apart, the kid that owned it was going to do an ATV front end on it, tore a lot of down then got sidetracked by his quads. For now it's going out in my woodshed so I don't get distracted from the Yerf. ))

Despite a lot of the negative comments that i've read about Sunl's, I'm pretty impressed with this thing. 1.5 tubing throughout. Fully finished welds. While the roll cage is rather ahem, "open", the chassis itself if very well designed structurally. 4 wheel disc brakes, nitrogen charged remote reservoir rear shocks. The shame of it is, it meets all of the class requirements that I'm working into the yerf other than the cage Floorpan is a bit dented up, other than that, this thing is solid. I paid $90 for the engine, so i'm in it for $240. I nearly chopped up the engine mount several times for the yerf, glad i didn't!

Actually it went behind the fence and got tarped over for now. Too much firewood in the way at the moment. I've got about a week of "off-time" left before I start working 6-7 days a week, and am really in a final push to finish the yerf. Otherwise it'll be an hour or two at night for the next month, then i'll be pulling both day and night shifts and I won't be finished and riding 'til the fall.
