Don't think you have the same engine as me (GY6 150cc), but here's some idea for you.

So does it have a Torque A verter? (TAV for short)
How about port matching the carb to intake manifold and intake manifold to head? Maybe have the head ported? What kind of exhaust is on that engine? |

for port matching, you need to remove the carb and intake pipe, and take note of the gasket on the one side and its imprint on the other. carefully mark (use a sharpie etc.) any metal on the face of the mating surface inside the gasket opening and remove the gasket. Grind away just the marked metal in a nice smooth transition to the rest of the port. Dremel with a roll sander, die grinder etc. Doing that to both pieces removes any obstructions from misalignment of the two pieces (the openings now match--hence the term gasket and or port matching) and also opens up the area in terms of volume. If the pieces have some movement on the studs or bolts when loosened--most do-- make "witness" marks on the outside surface prior to disassembly so you can put them back together in the exact same location so the openings are spot on.

Are you sure it's a K&N and not a "knock off"?
How about posting a pic? |

you may take a K&N that is listed for another application other than yours. Try looking for the filter using diminsions (size of inlet, length diameter , etc.) rather than searching for your particular model.
