It's a great project buggy, Lightest in it's class stock and tons of power out of the box. With a few mods you can have a great trail worthy buggy that will last with general maintenance.
there are a ton of guys on here with spiderboxes so you should be able to get lots of help. here is a couple pics of what I've done with mine.

double-down your money with a 1500-1700 offer and you'd be way, way ahead of the game with this compared to a yerf...

That is funny I just looked at all of those adds and the first one says it hits 60mph??? what? lol I don't know what the prices are like in that area but they seem to be a little high... the second one could go down a couple hundred, and with no picture you can't tell the condition it is in. the last one is way over priced! he is asking about what they cost new 6-7 years ago! that's normal pricing for this neck of the woods. just not many around here since its mostly suburban tract homes. people with open fields/woodlands aren't as "welcoming" to outsiders on their property as they were when i was growing up.

how are the crossfire 150cc karts? also a carbide 150cc? which is better? engine wise and durability? going to look at them tommorow

The crossfire has the better suspension of the 2, but the trans parts can be a bit hard to find but not impossible, they are not know for breakage unless it is slammed into FWD, or REV which holds true for any of these buggies. The carbide is a good one also with plenty of parts available. The crossfire besides the better suspension also used the common crank shaft in their engine should you ever want to peplace with a stroked crankshaft, the carbide uses the hammerhead engine which uses a different crankshaft so the stroker won't work but all other engine mods would work.

The Baja Dune 150 and Tomberlin Crossfire 150 and 150R should be on your search list. They are a little heavier than the Yerf but have the best front suspension setup out of the 150cc class.
If the engine is a Howhit, it will have oversized valves in the head and a high ratio gear set in the final transmission. Both of these are desired upgrades for others that do not run the Howhit. |

so out of these 3 karts what would everybody favor yerf 3206, carbide 150cc, or the crossfire 150cc? yerf im going to look at has heavy duty front end parts

Also search for Tomberlin Punisher (same as Crossfire & Dune150) These are as durable as they come in this class WITHOUT any mod's and can take a beating. The Helix is also a descent buggy too.
The weight difference on the Crossfire,Dune150 or Punisher isn't that noticable from the Spiderbox in the trails.IMO- Buying a Spiderbox is a labor of love & for those of us who like to tinker. |

Also if your a big guy, the spiderbox has a little more foot room stock...
I'm five ten and I was cramped in my Crossfire 150, other than that it's a better built buggy, better steering.

On that note: The original Crossfire 150 had a wider cabin than the later 150R.
