I tried a Keihin PE 28 (very similar to the PZ) and am having problems with it dumping fuel out. I wish I would have saved my $50 and bought something else, like the Mikuni VM 26-606 (around $90) or maybe even the Mikuni TM 24 (around $110)

i'm having trouble with the electric choke, and i thought with eliminating the vacumn diaphram and moving to a cable, it would be more full proof and easier to tune.

Yeah, i'm not a big fan of the elec choke either, but there is a kit that can make it into a manual pull.

Round slides are more responsive than CV carbs, but that shouldn't affect your ability to tune it. Nor the elec choke unless it's stuck in the closed position.

You should only be tuning the carb on a warm engine when the choke is not coming into play. So that's why it may only be an issue if it's stuck closed.

My thought was the choke wasn't closing due to electrical issues. Its all better now. it was poppin through the carb and the exhaust at wide open. i checked everything or so i thought. The wires to the coil had a bad connection. Recrimped the ends and it runs like a top. A little pop out of the exhaust after letting off the gas at wide open but runs great.
