Baja Motorsports MB200 Tav2 Install
Hello Everyone - I just purchased 2 MB200 from Pep Boys. What TAV2 set do I order? The drive clutch has 10 teeth, the BIGGER outside driven sprocket has 20 teeth and the smaller inside sprocket (going to the rear wheel sprocket) has 10 teeth. Do I order the #30 set and do I get the #6 or #7
driver to driven? Also, I found on this site 3 dealers to buy the TAV2 - which do you recommend for price, ship time, quality, and helpfulness? I just want to say this is a GREAT site! Thank-you, in advance Ron Last edited by lvflyer; 10-23-2011 at 09:11 PM. |

Welcome- What is your goal? more speed or torque? Tav2 30 series-6" driven for a little more speed (may not be able to fit the 7" on there but it'll provide more torque) Northern usually has it the cheapest. You may need additional hardward too!

Using the TAV 1 back plate the 7 inch is a no fit condition for belts.
You could slot the holes and move it out bit and use the 91 belt. Or you could use the BMI Jack shaft for the yerf dog as I did. you will need to build a mount to raise the secondary out of harms way... I built that myself, but at this point I need to warn you its not a done deal and I am still having teething troubles. With a 9 tooth primary drive and the stock 54 rear delivers around 40 MPH at 4500 rpm stock tyre ( give or take guess since I run a larger 20 ) The clutch and a strong motor can easily power threw the rear drum brake so you should consider upgrading the stopping power. Hmm this is an old thread..... I am new hear just reading and comenting incase this project has already been done. |
