New build
Ok as you know I take what i have and build what i need.Well here goes.
I am taking a Murry Hard drive and adding a longer travel front end from an atv.(chineese).I need help on the geomentery on this thing.Any help will be app.I will create an albulm

issue i'm finding with non-strut atv front ends is that the ball joints go into bind before you get to the amount of droop you want for a buggy. in theory, they're the easiest to install because you can basically chop the atv frame, keep the side tubes and arm mounts and with a little extra beefing up, just weld it to the sides of the buggy. most difficult part then is getting the steering rack in a good location.
the baja 90 atv front i put on the HH mini shark worked perfectly. on bigger buggies, the full size atv front end is only slightly larger than the junior sizes and is out of proportion to the bigger buggies. travel and clearance wise, the ball joints screw the pooch on it. if you can replace the ball joints with heims and reposition them, then it'll work. |

Your A-arms look similar to a Suzuki. I think the first issue is that on the ATV the A-arms are basically level (front to rear)very little to no caster, as it isn't needed to steer when sitting over the frontend. I do know 6 degree caster or forward angle(front of A-arm elevated) works, more angle can be used also but can't tell you exactly how much more (up to around 12 degrees)without trial and error by steering and watching the turn radius and angle on the wheel. With that done then work on the steering arms for angle and travel can be done.

I see you have the tire/suspension "up" with the shock out. how far down does it hang (droop) down from the atv arm mounts when you take it off the blocks? if you get a fair amount of downward travel, it's probably worth working with.

Just checked out the album. I'm a little curious as to how you have it set-up at the moment. ???
The pics of it with the ATV arms and shock mounted on the side look good. The murray's frame has caster angle built in up front and droop, spindle angle etc. all look fine with the "mounted on the side" setup. Are you trying to stretch the wheelbase/cockpit by putting the atv front end on the front center of the murray? If you're worried about it being too wide up front by mounting everything off the sides of the murray, don't--it makes for a better turning, more stable ride. |

I had it temp.in the front then changed my mind.I am at the moment using the bottom mount on the frame.The shock mount is tacked.Just looking but I think this is where it will be.

Had a real bad day yesterday.Have one of the anarobic septic systems and spent all day replacing the pump line on this %ER)UI{GIXJ<MBKHJ%^BJK thing.
Did not get to work on kart at all,just passed whill finding parts and tools.SHOVEL yea.
