Electric plug in not working?

I tried to use an air compresser by plugging it into the dashboard of the buggys electric inlet and it would not come on?The compresser is brand new and I borrowed one just like it and used it a couple months ago to proper inflate the buggy tires with no problem.The female plug in got very hot but the pump would not come on? mancoman

i've had that type of compressor be dead out of the box new. try it in a car and see if it works. after that, check your power outlet in the buggy in relation to the terminal end and ground strap on the compressor's plug. sometimes they don't fit well in the sockets. From what i've done with mine, i'm pretty sure you can't cross wire the power supply socket without blowing the inline fuse. (did that 3 times already--stupid black wire for hot!)
