I like candy!
Just repainted my old red dazon! the paint had faded to "pink" not so cool. I put some candy apple red urethane on it, now she glows in the dark, oh yeah!

I know, I know but while I was putting it back together I found a couple of fish eye spots, mainly towards the rear of the frame, where I obviously didnt prep it right! so I decided to sand n prep it again and give it another coate! pics to fallow!

Now I repainted,but still got some minor fish eye on it!1 My wife said "hey its a mud buggy!" so I'm gonna let it go!

The paint looks good .I want to do the same thing with mine ,the pink is not cool. Did you remove the old powder coated paint first? What did you remove it with ?

Yeah, I remember that tune! now it will be stuck in my head awhile, lol! rich1 to answer your question, the old paint was pretty bad off so it really didnt take much sanding and and cleaning with MEK, backed up by denatured alcohol to have it ready to paint. I'm thinking the fish eyes towards the rear of the frame were due to nearly a decade of gas,oil,& grease saturation into the paint and yes the metal, which will absorb materials! the paint I got from my work, it is an industrial eurathane that you just cant get anywhere(sorry) its a pitthane 35 2 part we had left over from awhile ago (very high VOC) not sure if its even available anymore since most paints have gone to waterbases?
