Default New Cdi Motor won't shut off

Hi I have a motobravo kart. It has a gy6 motor. I installed a new ac cdi, and when i turn the key off and the kill switch off it won't kill. They killed the motor with the last cdi installed. There was no spark so i bought this new cdi. I'm stumped. When the kill switch is off it does ground to the cdi. The buggy starts fine just won't shut off. Any suggestions thanks greatly.

Sounds like the contacts in the kill switch are stuck closed.

I checked the kill switch it does work it opens and closes. I can start the kart. The only way I can shut it off is keep the idle low and let off the throttle. I bought the cart with wires hanging cut all over. I wired it to the best of my knowledge. I've driven the cart. I welded on a dirt bike muffler, made an intake with a house and an open type filter. I changed some jets. On the last jet I tried when I put the carb back on it had no spark. I bought this Cdi, and it started right up. Now I can't ride it cause it won't shut off with key switch or kill. And it is getting ground to the kill switch pin on the Cdi. I will have to buy a different ac Cdi from somewhere else I guess. Thanks.

Default just an idea!

have you considered putting a toggle switch inline with the hot wire to see if that would help solve the problem!? still sound like a wiring issue to me, when in doubt start all over, a pain in the butt yes, neccesary sometimes unfortunately YES! anyone else?

Are you sure you need an AC voltage CDI and not a DC?

Does your lights turn on with the key? If so, you need a DC CDI.

My lights do come on when i turn the key on. I was under the impression I had an ac cdi do to it being smaller in size. I will order a dc one and see how that works out for me. Thanks for taking the time guys... greatly appreciated.
