Default Variator stuck

Hi everyone. I am in the process of removing my variator but it seems to be stuck. I removed the variator fan and I believe it should slide right off along with the boss pin. But it won't budge. The variator will slide along the boss pin about 1/8-1/4 inch but that's it. Here is a picture of it. I'm afraid of applying to much pressure and breaking it somehow. Anyone know why it might be stuck? Is there something holding it on that I'm missing?

I believe my buggy to be a kinroad raptor 2004. Its a 250cc.

Thanks for your help!

Chris

The boss pin should slide off the crank - Most likely corrosion has frozen it there penetrating oil or heat may get it loose.

Use heat with caution. You have a crank seal right behind there and too much heat may damage it. Try to heat up just the boss pin without heating the crank if possible.

Had a lot of trouble removing the variator on my CN250 the first time too. Removing the nut was easy as I have an air gun. The variator itself would not move. I would try the penetrating oil. I tapped mine lightly with a hammer all around and finally it loosened up. Now I always grease the shaft so it slides right off. If you decide to use grease don't use too much as it could wind up on the belt.
