Dual Battery
Hi all, I have a XYKD 260-1, 260cc engine and I've made some small modifications. What I want to do is add another battery to run my lights and my winch. I have a battery which is exactly the same as the main and I have a 70 amp isolator. My question is this, I can't figure out which wire charges the battery when the engine is running. There's only one wire that goes to the battery, do I use that same cable to go to the alternator connection on the isolator? Working with a basic motorcycle engine is new to me. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks again.

I would just run a truck size battery for ur winch and extra. Lites and accessories by itself with a switch.and charge it after every use.. don't mess with your buggies battery system. I say this cause I'm no electrician.

Agree with Eddie. The greater load you put on the stator the more power you lose, and the greater your chances of burning it up. I think you would fare better hauling the big battery than you would trying to charge two batteries at once.
