daydreaming.....
So I've recently been riding my brain about the possibility of adding a "low gear" to my mini buggy.has anyone noticed how low the reverse gearing is?....so what if by chance there was an extra gearcase trans and all on the work bench to spare? My thinking is that, could it be possible to cut the spare case past all the clutch towards the variator end, drill holes in the case for mounting...from there plug the brether hole for the transmission, flip it upside down drill a new breather hole...andcome up with a plate to mount it to underneath the rear of the cvt tranny area.with this setup it would also need an added chain and a new sprocket welded the clutch side of the case. And if I am think rite (which I could be wrong). Add another shift cable to the cab to the new gearcase. When you want low gearyou would put your new case in reverse making it roll foreward.when done.just put it in neutral?keeping your stock transmission in foreward would put it back to original gearing. Either way it sounds complex. But the thought of it was worth sharing. Hoping for some good feedback on this idea.
