Dirt in your fuel, wrong float level, damaged needle, or damaged needle seat. You can take the carb off and remove the float bowl. Then blow through the fuel line while manually raising and lowering the float. When you raise it, it should completely stop you from blowing air through the fuel line. If you can still blow through a little bit while it is raised, carefully inspect the needle and seat. If those check out, the most common cause is dirt or a "tuner" changing the float level.

other than what mustanger said about dirt in your system would be a float set too high.something is not turning off your fuel supply to the carb.

If it is a new carb, I need to ask about the angle of your swing arm. If the carb is at an extreme angle, say if you lifted the rear, then the float needs to be adjusted accordingly.

If you run a vacuum operated petcock, the petcock diaphragm is leaking fuel or you have the lines reversed.

nothing has changed I am using the stock intake an the tank does not have a on/off valve for the gas coming from the tank to the carb

The stock petcock out of your fuel tank has two lines. One is a vacuum line running from the carburetor and intake manifold through a t-fitting, the other is the supply line (with hopefully a fuel filter in inline). If the vacuum line is leaking at the petcock, fuel will constantly run until the tank is empty.
You replaced the carburetor, so the problem should be elsewhere. Last edited by GX150; 10-27-2013 at 09:10 PM. |

the tank has no fuel on/off valve it has only a barbed fitting that the gas line attaches to then to the carb with a filter
